A whole lot of misplace history .There has never been any time that the Ashantis defeated any Dangme tribe either together or seperately.The two notable wars were the Cape Coast -Asanti war of 1824 and the Katamanso war between the Gold Coast and the Ashantis in 1826.
In all these wars,the Ashantis lost.To straithen matters,the Dangmes including the Adas the subject matter of this discussions, I will like to put in on record that the Akyems never fought any war against any Dangme state ,they rather teamed up to fight the Ashantis.
About Akwamu teaming up to fight any Dangme state had never occured.After the Akwamus tricked the Dangmes at Tagologo now Lorlorvor in 1726 which created the current divisions in Dangme into subtribes like Seh,Ada,Osudoku,Kro,Ningo and Kpone,the Ajwamus attacked the Kyerepongs on the Akwapim mountain in 1733 but the Kyerepongs sought the assistance of the Kyebi people of which Ofori Kuma from Kyebi cane to their rescue and defeated the Akwamus and drove the to Eastern Volta currently Akosombo,the reasons why we have Akropong made up of Kyebis and by mutual agreements can never leave Akwapim.
In fact it was Nana Ansah Sasraku 1 of Akwamu who bestowed the name Akwapim on the mountain people in 1733 before his defeat in the Kyerepong -Ajwamu war of 1733 through the assistance of Ofori Kuma from Kyebi.
The Kyerepongs themselves were dedeated by the Kro and La people together earlier on from Accra to the Mountain.The Akwapim from Ansah Sasraku literally meant Nkuaa wor bru Apim.Which has been twisted into the name Akwapim.There supporting archival documents to prove this history and you may call me on 0594152890 if you care or want more.
Part of the Adas moved in tandem with the Dangmes to Togo after the 1726 Dangme -Akwamu war and are currently specufically called Adangbe by the Togolese.
