ZONGO POLITICAL GROUPINGS PETITIONS GBA

The National Coalition of Zongo Political Groupings, has petitioned the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), to suspend the license of Hon. Baba Jamal Mohammed Esq. for bringing the respectable institute into disrepute.

The leader of the group, Mr. Yahaya Alhassan, said, the GBA needs to set the standard for good governance at the time politicians have turned the key state institution, the House of Parliament, into a musical chair.

                                                            BABA JAMAL

“We have seen the sickening swapping of the constituency from Salaga to Madina by Hon. Abubakar Boniface. Hon. Ras Mubarak swapped Ablekumah North for  Kumbungu and currently, Nii Okai Laryea is vying to contest for the Odododiodioo seat”.

“Strangely, was, when one of your members, Baba Jamal is joining such a quagmire cartel to prey on a vulnerable constituency like Nima for selfish political gains which is against the ethics and principles of the Ghana Bar Association”, he lamented.

Mr. Alhassan explained that Baba Jamal was a member of Parliament for Akwatia, before losing to Hon. Mercy Ama Sey in 2016, and not a proven resident of Nima, where he represented. Therefore, found foul play for the acquisition of his NDC membership at the East Ayawaso Constituency.

The leader of the group, therefore, appealed to GBA to sanction Hon. Baba Jamal immediately, to end the ongoing bullied swapping of constituencies, as it is a breach of ethics of the GBA.

“Kindly consider that, your office’s punitive action shall send a profound statement to end the ongoing bullied swapping of constituencies which has become a pitfall to our democracy, and create the enabling environment for locals to represent their constituencies, not outsiders”, he added.

The National Coalition of Zongo Political Groupings, was established to promote good governance, and unite Zongos against political vigilantism which has embodied Zongo youth and stand for the voiceless in Ghana.
