The Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF), Alhaji Halidu Haruna, has pledged deeper collaboration with traditional authorities to drive rapid and inclusive development across Zongo communities. He emphasized that the involvement of Zongo Chiefs remains central to the Fund’s mission of achieving sustainable progress.
Alhaji Haruna made these remarks on Thursday, November 20, 2025, when a delegation from Manhean Zongo in the Ga West Municipality paid a courtesy call on him at the Fund’s headquarters. The team was led by the Zongo Chief, Sarki Alhaji Ali Alhassan, and included the Imam, Magajiyas, and Opinion Leaders who paid a courtesy visit and explore areas of strengthened cooperation.
Describing traditional leaders as “strategic partners and indispensable stakeholders,” the ZoDF CEO noted that their guidance and collaboration are essential in shaping development interventions that truly reflect the needs of local communities. He assured the delegation of the Fund’s readiness to support transformative projects in Manhean Zongo.Alhaji Haruna further stressed the importance of community-centered development, highlighting priority areas such as education, sanitation, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. With closer partnership, he said, progress in these sectors could be accelerated for the benefit of residents.
In his response, Sarki Alhaji Ali Alhassan expressed appreciation for what he described as the warm and excellent reception given to the delegation. He congratulated Alhaji Haruna on his appointment as CEO and commended his consistent dedication to improving the conditions of Zongo communities nationwide.
Sarki Ali also took the opportunity to thank President John Mahama for appointing a leader whose vision and commitment align with the aspirations of Zongo residents. He noted that the Manhean Zongo community is eager to collaborate with the Fund to realize meaningful and lasting development.
The meeting concluded on a note of renewed optimism, as both sides affirmed their commitment to building a stronger partnership aimed at improving livelihoods and transforming Manhean Zongo through sustainable development projects.
